Annie's Chocolate Chip Shortbread

 

Always a winner because everyone loves a good shortbread! This is also brilliant with both milk and white chocolate chunks in it or for a extra rich shortbread add an ounce ground almonds and an ounce less flour. Feel free to play around with it to see what your favourite is. Its always a reliable Sunday afternoon recipe as its so quick to make.

 

Ingredients

4oz softened butter

2oz caster sugar

5oz plain flour

4oz chocolate drops (one regular sized packet)

 

Method

Cream together butter and sugar. Sift flour and add it to the mixture with the chocolate drops. If you are using a mixer keep and eye because it will come together very quickly into a big lump. Squish the mixture into a tin and bake at 160 degrees for about 15-20 minutes depending on thickness.
