Jams, Preserves and Chutneys
I am such a huge fan of jams, preserves and chutneys. A good oatcake with strong cheddar and a tasty chutney is definitely up there on my list of things to eat. Its also even if we do say so ourselves, you will find some of our best secrets and recipes. Mrs Cleams' Tazmanian Tomato Chutney being one. I have literally never found a person who didn't like it. Equally the two marmalade recipes are also highly prized and indeed multiple award winning! You can always play about with the quantities if you want to make more or less of one, just be careful to keep the proportions of ingredients the same when you adjust the recipes.
Need any equipment?
Jam Jars: Buying Jam Jars to put your beautiful produce in can be extremely expensive, however, by far the cheapest way of getting the jars is to save up your own when you finish shop bought produce. However, if you do want to purchase them I can thoroughly recommend buying online because as with most things it can be found very very cheaply, in this case for as little as 1p per jar! Please click on this link to find cheap jam jars online.
Muslin Bags: In all our jam recipes you will find reference to the use of muslin bags which can be purchased here.
Preserving Pans: Often you need an extremely large pan to cook your jams and preserves in, please look at the range here to find something suitable if you don't already have one.
